TAKE THE STAGE
RULES

OUR RULES

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS AS FAILURE TO COMPLY COULD RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. By registering to compete you agree to the following:

Entries

There is a limit of 3 solos per person but they must be different genres. Solo entries are not allowed to compete against themselves in a category. Title entries can be made with a £5 fee at the time of registration.

When registration closes all schools will be charged £5 for any changes they wish to make to their registration, i.e.; Routine Name Changes, Dancer Name Changes, adding and removing routines or dancers, music changes e.t.c, and these changes must be communicated in writing. No exceptions will be made.

All schools must check the draft schedule and raise any changes to be made before the cut off date which will be communicated by Take The Stage.

Behaviour

Sportsmanlike behaviour is expected at all times, failure to display proper decorum could result in immediate disqualification. Spectators/ members of the audience are expected to treat all competitors with respect and refrain from making unnecessary noise or movement during performances, however once performances are complete cheering and encouragement are very welcome.

ALL competitors are the sole responsibility of their dance school/ studio, Take The Stage is NOT responsible for any competitor.  ALL entrants under the age of 16 must be chaperoned by a nominated adult at any competition run by Take The Stage.  The chaperones will be accountable for the behaviour and welfare of minors at all our events.

Please note some councils may require children who perform more than three times in six months to have a child performance licence. Please contact your local council for more information.

Please ensure entries are age appropriate and do NOT contain explicit or inappropriate content

Judges

The Judges decision is final

Communication with the judges is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.

Age

Age is determined by how old you are on the 1ST OF JANUARY.

Duo/Trio and Group ages are determined by the average age of the dancers.

Example:

6 dancers in a group number, two dancers are nine, two dancers are 13 and two are 18: 9+9+13+13+18+18 = 80

Total of all ages = 80

Divide by number of dancers (6) = 13.3

Average age = 13, so the category is Teen for that group number.

Any protests regarding age must be brought to the attention of Take The Stage within 30 minutes of the number being performed. Any disputes raised after this will not be entertained. If a protest arises, all competitors must be prepared to present proof of age within 30 minutes of a dispute being raised on the day of the competition.

No dangerous props may be used such as fire, swords, knives etc. General props and gymnastics mats are allowed. All props must be in place within 1 minute please ensure all props backstage are labelled with School/ Studio name for identification purposes.
